Hurricane Rafael

At 4:15 p.m. ET Wednesday, Hurricane Rafael, a Category 3 storm with maximum sustained winds of 115 mph, made landfall in the Cuban province of Artemisa, just east of Playa Majana.


Across Cuba, flash flooding, mudslides, severe winds, and flooding rain are all predicted. Across Cuba, flash flooding, mudslides, severe winds, and flooding rain are all predicted. There may be a 6–10 foot storm surge in sections of the shoreline that faces south.
